Being a path that leads to the road of success means to work relentlessly with those that society has shut out. Upon getting released from prison or jail, it's not uncommon that help is needed transitioning back into society. In the year 2000, I was convicted of a crime. Upon my release, December of 2003, I had no support system to depend on. My support system was my mother who passed just two weeks after my release. I was sentenced to Community Corrections with no help to provide my essential needs. As a result of me being in this situation having to overcome the obstacles; I became passionate about providing services to help other in the situation I was once in.

My name is Tiashelia, Group Facilitator at the nxtchapter.org I have always wanted to work with the youth and the least fortunate in my community. With my goals and ambition, it set me on a course of human relation service. Coming from a loving, but dysfunctional family and neighborhood; I found myself wanting to help individuals like me. At the age of 14 I became a youth counselor, By the age of 16 I was working at risk children as a teacher’s assistant. Working with people, helping solve their problems and connecting them back with their love ones and their lives, has been my life long mission. At that moment I became passionate about reintegrating families back together.

People call me Ken, I was born Nov 1977 in Colorado and have always resided in Denver CO. In 2018 I attended Aurora Community College. My studies focused on majoring in business management. I have joined The NXT Chapter to make an impact toward the injustice that I myself and many others have delt with. Having spent time on the other side of the LAW I have had first had experience of how the injustice and lack of resources works. When it come to social reintegration and stabilization of recidivism. So, with that being a big part of community growth I endeavors to do my part to improve this underserved community.
